China, Sanya, Xin street food shopping center - “Where can a budget tourist eat tasty and inexpensive food in Dadonghai? I will tell and show you my favorite Chifanka! Menu, prices, dishes, interior and my impressions.

Hainan Island is large enough, and in your question you did not indicate exactly where you plan to rest. Restaurants of Russian cuisine are found in almost every resort. It cannot be said that Hainan Island is the most popular holiday destination among Russian tourists, but their number is increasing every year (if not for the economic crisis, but the situation would look somewhat different).

If you are planning to stay in Haikou, there is an excellent Russian restaurant called Lucia. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the Shiday shopping center. This place is very popular not only among foreign tourists, but also among the tourists themselves. The menu is presented in three languages: Chinese, Russian and English. The restaurant specializes in Ukrainian and Russian cuisine. One of the features of this institution is that the chefs in it are not Russians or Ukrainians, but Chinese, nevertheless, they do their job perfectly, the taste of borscht or Kiev cutlets is no worse (or even better) than in our restaurants. The restaurant always has a pleasant, calm atmosphere, there is no noise that the Chinese create in ordinary cafes. In restaurants, you can come with your own wine, visitors can use free wi-fi, live music sounds in the evenings. There are also several booths in which you can retire, while you do not need to pay extra for renting such booths. The restaurant is open daily from 10.30 am to 10.30 pm.

Inexpensive and tasty you can eat in the restaurant "Marina", which is located in the Sanya Bay, on the island of Hainan. Some tourists are a little confused by the appearance of the institution, since despite the loud name "restaurant", in appearance it looks more like an ordinary dining room. The restaurant provides such a service as a free transfer to and from the restaurant. To do this, just call 15-30 minutes in advance and a car will be sent for you. The menu in the restaurant is in Russian, and while visitors are getting to know it, they are brought some fruit and something to drink (free of charge, at the expense of the institution). After the first visit, a coupon is issued, which makes it possible to receive a 10% discount on each subsequent visit (a trifle, but nice). You don't have to wait long to order, the portions are large.

The menu contains both traditional Russian cuisine (with meat, mushrooms, first courses) and traditional Chinese dishes with seafood, vegetables and herbs. If you are resting in Sanya, be sure to check out this restaurant.

In the Dadonghai Bay, on the first coastline, there is a cafe "Traktir Moscow". Tourists from European countries are frequent guests in this institution, which is not surprising, since there are no Chinese dishes on the menu, mainly European cuisine. This is not to say that this is the best cafe in the region, but if you don't like Chinese cuisine, then be sure to check out this Tavern. The prices are reasonable, the service is good, there is free wi-fi, the air conditioners are working. Lovers of spirits will also be satisfied, there is a wide choice of them in the cafe.

You do not have to look for restaurants of Russian cuisine, as in some parts of the island it is quite problematic to find such restaurants, and sometimes prices in such restaurants are 20-30% higher than in other establishments. What is the point of overpaying when you can find a decent cafe or restaurant with European cuisine. In Sanya there is a good bar-restaurant "Dolphin", frequent guests of which are not only tourists, but also the Chinese themselves, so you need to book a table in advance (especially in the evening). The menu includes pasta, pizza, steaks, fries, pizza and many other familiar and familiar dishes. The waiters of this establishment are fluent in English (there is a menu in Russian). The restaurant is located almost in the very center of Dadonghai Bay and in the evenings live music sounds here, various sporting events are periodically broadcast, if you wish, you can play billiards.

It is rightfully considered one of the best resorts in the country. Several centuries ago, it was positioned as an island for the nobles. The warm sea, a large number of wide beaches and stunning landscapes do not leave indifferent even the most sophisticated tourists. Hainan has become famous throughout the world as the "Eastern Harbors" and has become a major health destination in China.

One of the most famous places on the island is Dadonghai Bay, the infrastructure of which has grown into a full-fledged resort. comfortable beaches and exciting diving are the main reasons to come here on vacation. In this article, you will learn in more detail what the Dadonghai resort is and what features a vacation in this place has.

Geographic location

Dadonghai Bay is located on the southwest side of the city of Sanya, which is also very popular with tourists. Nevertheless, tourists often choose the bay for recreation, since in cities the prices for accommodation and entertainment are much higher. The distance from the bay to the city is about three kilometers. Phoenix International Airport is located 15 kilometers from the city of Sanya.

How to get to the resort?

Getting to the resort from the airport is not difficult at all. Here tourists have three options: regular bus, taxi or transfer (if the hotel provides such a service). There are regular buses from Dadudhai to Sanya, so it will not be difficult to travel to the city. And besides, the distance of three kilometers can be easily covered on foot, admiring the picturesque landscapes along the way. A bus from Sanya to Dadonghai will cost a tourist 1 yuan, and a taxi - 10-15 yuan (1 yuan - 8.95 rubles). Local buses travel the entire island.

Climate

Since Hainan is the southernmost island in China, it has a tropical climate. Dadonghai resort welcomes its guests with warm sea and sunny weather almost 300 days a year. Since the island is constantly warm, there are only two seasons - rainy and dry. During the period from April to November, heavy rains reign on the island along with intense heat. During this time, the cost of rest falls.

The average annual air temperature in Dadonghai is 24 ° C, and in the South China Sea washing it - 22 ° C. During the year, there is no sharp temperature drop. However, the island is clearly cooler in winter than in summer, especially in the evening. In autumn, the territory of the island is subject to the influence of typhoons. Nevertheless, the tourist season here lasts all year round.

Such a concept as the high season in Dadonghai is very conditional. Since the weather conditions make it possible to comfortably rest here all year round, the influx of tourists usually depends on the holiday dates. Nevertheless, in the summer, due to heavy rains and heat, the popularity of the resort decreases. Most tourists come here in December and January. And in September-October, mostly Chinese people have a rest at the resort. Swimming on the beaches of Dadonghai Bay is best in November and from March to June.

Beaches

The beaches of Dadonghai are shaped like a young moon. In principle, this is one huge beach, almost two kilometers long. Among the pure white sand you can find oases with palm trees, which create a pleasant coolness. Thanks to the excellent wind rose, this place is famous among the surfers. The disadvantage of this resort is the abundance of algae, which, after typhoons and storms, heavily pollute the water and the coast. There are always a lot of people on the municipal beaches of the resort. The local population travels here to rest.

Particularly noteworthy are the beaches with coral reefs. More than 100 species of them can be found here. Corals are home to 300 species of fish. Due to the fact that in the season when there are no storms, the water of the South China Sea is very clear, divers and sailing enthusiasts can fully appreciate all the marine beauty of the harbor.

Entertainment

The resort offers its guests all conditions for a first-class pastime. Active guests can go diving, surfing, fishing, scooter and ATV riding, snorkeling or go on a boat trip. Those wishing to relax in a more relaxed atmosphere can get acquainted with the local cuisine and music in bars, restaurants or clubs. In addition, there are many shops in Dadonghai Bay (Hainan) for great shopping. The largest shopping center in the resort is Summer Mall.

Kitchen

Hainan Island and Dadonghai Bay in particular are famous for their rather interesting exotic cuisine, which can surprise even real gourmets. Local restaurants and bars serve not only Chinese cuisine, but also the cuisines of a number of other countries: India, Thailand, Italy, Japan and even Russia. Due to the abundance of seafood and tropical fruits, the menu of local restaurants is very varied. Here you can find such delicacies as coconut dishes and more.

The main dishes of the local cuisine are sesame seed-fed chicken and soups to finish off the meal. A special feature of all local food is the use of fermented soybeans and rice. Also in restaurants you can find a lot of meat and vegetable dishes.

The resort offers inexpensive but delicious fruit juices everywhere.

Dadonghai Bay hotels

Dadonghai is considered a relatively inexpensive resort. At the same time, many of the local hotels are of the high category (4-5 stars), thanks to their cleanliness, quality service, a wide range of services and an excellent location. The local population is very responsible and hard-working, so there are practically no problems with the service here. Most hotels have Russian-speaking staff, a private area with a beach, a tour desk and an entertainment program.

When choosing a hotel, you should pay attention to the following aspects:

  1. The presence of its own beach.
  2. Supply system.
  3. The comfort of the rooms.
  4. Availability of entertainment and sports activities.
  5. Availability of additional services.

Among the best hotels are the following: 4-star hotel Royal Garden Resort, 5-star hotel Shanhaitian Hotel Sanya, 4-star hotel "Linda" - Linda Seaview Hotel. If desired, in Dadonghai Bay, you can find budget hotels with a minimum number of additional services and an acceptable level of comfort.

Dadonghai Bay landmarks

The bay is located between two mountains: "Wrapped Deer" and "Hare's Tail". The Wrapped Deer Mountain is the main attraction of the harbor and a famous natural monument. Once upon a time, local shamans gathered here to perform their rituals. Today, on the slopes of the mountain, there is a beautiful landscape park where you can admire the local beauty, as well as meet monkeys, turtles, deer and other interesting animals.

According to an ancient legend, one day a hunter wanted to catch a golden deer on this mountain. The chase for the beast dragged on for nine days. Ultimately, the hunter managed to drive the deer to the coast. Realizing that there is no way to retreat, turn the deer into a beautiful girl who amazed the hunter with her beauty. As a result, the couple fell in love, and they lived happily ever after. This is the most common variant of the origin of the unusual name of the mountain. There are also other versions. All of them are displayed in numerous souvenirs that are sold in the shops of the bay.

In the vicinity of the resort, you can find other attractions: museums, ancient temples (the most famous of them is the Nanshan complex, which is one of the main centers of Buddhism in China), factories (the pearl factory in Sanya is especially popular), nature reserves (including famous Sanya Meitianya Park and "Monkey Park").

Wellness

Hainan Island (China) is an excellent place not only for relaxation, but also for health improvement. There are several popular traditional medicine centers in Dadonghai Harbor: Longevity Garden, Taiji Clinic, Do Wen Tian Medical Center and others.

Treatment in local health centers is carried out in accordance with traditional methods, the effectiveness of which has been confirmed for centuries. As a rule, treatment includes: massage, breathing exercises, gymnastics, taking herbal decoctions, acupuncture, reflexology, and more. All these measures make it possible to get rid of a large number of diseases against which modern drug medicine is not always effective.

Family Resort

It is convenient to relax in Dadonghai with children of different ages - the healing tropical climate, clean sandy beaches, warm sea and fresh exotic fruits will help the kid get a lot of impressions from the trip. In addition, the resort has a ton of children's entertainment and playgrounds.

Souvenirs

For those who want to bring something worthwhile to loved ones from their vacation, there are a huge number of souvenir shops in the Dadonghai resort. Here are win-win souvenirs from this resort: silk products, tea, handmade souvenirs, pearls, spirits with a "surprise" in the form of a scorpion or snake, and herbal liqueurs.

Most tourists rest in Dadonghai in hotels for breakfast, so the question of where to eat tasty and inexpensive food in Dadonghai is quite relevant. After your arrival, you are unlikely to wonder where to eat in Dadonghai, unless you are staying at some of the hotels located far from the center, for example, at the Mandarin Oriental Sanya, which has no cafes or restaurants nearby. There is no shortage of cafes in the central area of Dadonghai resort, where almost all hotels are located. Just arrived and don't know where to eat tasty and inexpensive food in Dadonghai? Then you can just go to the Summer Mall, which is located almost in the very center of the resort. There are famous chain restaurants as well as a large food court. Food prices are quite reasonable here. At least they are lower than in all hotels in the area.
Would you like to taste Peking duck in Dadonghai? Then it's best to head to one of the local restaurants. Fortunately, the selection of such restaurants is quite decent. If you are interested in Peking duck, then it is better to choose some restaurant at the hotel. Although the cost of such a dish can be high here, everything will be prepared to the highest standard. The cheapest Peking duck I managed to taste in the cafe "Lena's".

Dadonghai Food Square

What is Dadonghai Food Square? This is the place where you can eat deliciously and inexpensively. The food square is a street with small stalls, each owned by a Chinese family. We can say that this is a kind of analogue of the Thai night market. The food square opens at approximately 19:30. Here you can buy Chinese food for little money, including fried meat, noodles, dried fish, egg and meat soup, and oven-baked dishes. In any case, you will find the cheapest hot food in Dadonghai in this place.
Where is Dadonghai Food Square? I won't give you the exact address, but I will tell you that it is located on a street that runs perpendicular to Yuya Road, on the opposite side of the Summer Mall square.

Buffet in Dadonghai

If you want to have a lunch or dinner buffet, you can either go to one of the Dadonghai hotels (expensive hotels usually offer a buffet for dinner, although they may not have such a table for lunch), or go to the Leto shopping center, which also has a barbecue buffet. According to tourists, there are a couple of restaurants on Dadonghai Beach that offer a buffet, but, unfortunately, I have not visited all the establishments in this area, so I cannot confirm these words.

Cafe in Dadonghai

For those who want an inexpensive but tasty meal in Dadonghai, this area offers several good cafes. In these cafes you can eat lagman, Chinese dishes and even some Russian cuisine.
It is better to look for cafes in Dadonghai Bay away from hotels, since cafes at or near hotels generally offer high prices, but if you move at least 200 meters from the hotel, you can find a cheaper cafe.

CCCP Cafe in Dadonghai

This is one of the most famous cafes in Dadonghai among Russian tourists. It owes its popularity not only to its name, but also to its convenient location near the beach. The USSR cafe offers dishes of Russian, Caucasian and some other cuisines. In the evenings, various events are often held here.

Tavern "Moskva" in Dadonghai

Another good cafe for tourists from Russia. The Moskva tavern is located near the beach, next to the Gorizont clinic. If you want to eat borscht or pancakes, then you can visit this cafe. The price level here is average.

Lena's cafe in Dadonghai

The last cafe that I would like to recommend to you is Lena's cafe. It is close to the beach and next to Resort Intime Sunshine Sanya. The cafe is not very remarkable in appearance, with plastic chairs, but the price level here will delight those who do not like to spend a lot on food. In addition to Russian cuisine, the cafe offers delicious seafood dishes. The staff in the cafe speaks good Russian.

In addition to the numerous advantages of various types of recreation, it also gives a unique opportunity to get to know better the Chinese national cuisine. The Chinese culinary tradition includes not only cooking techniques, but for the most part is a cultural phenomenon, the history of which goes back more than one thousand years.

What is Chinese cuisine.

The preparation and further consumption of food in China is a special ritual, the basic principles of which have been regulated for many generations. The basics of food preparation have long since seeped along with the Chinese people to other countries. You can try Thailand, Cambodia and other countries. Chinese cuisine is fundamentally much healthier than European cuisine. The reason for this lies in using only the freshest products, minimizing heat treatment, when all the useful properties are preserved, laborious preparation for the main process in the form of pickling and soaking. In China, milk and its derivatives, including butter, are not honored; cooking takes place exclusively on vegetable fats. But vegetables, exotic fruits for Europeans, seafood, various spices, herbs and spices reign supreme in any Chinese cuisine. Soybeans, legumes, which replace beef with their protein composition, are held in high esteem. Pork, chickens and ducks, invertebrate marine life are popular.

Types of Chinese cuisine.

On about. Hainan is widely represented by various directions of Chinese cuisine, differing in the method of preparation and the types of spices used. Here you can taste dishes Cantonese cuisine, probably the most useful of the listed ones, as they are steamed or boiled quite a bit. Shanghai cuisine will surprise you with the famous Peking duck, smoked and seasoned with a special marinade, Sichuan and Hunan cuisines are known to be very hot and spicy in taste.

But among all this variety there are dishes, to visit Hainan, and not trying which would be an unforgivable omission. Firstly, this is the Hele crab, which won the love of gourmets with its tender meat and golden caviar, steamed and served with a sauce with garlic and vinegar. Secondly, it is, of course, lamb stew, and sometimes Dongshan goat meat, which has a special flavor, served with a spicy sauce. The next dish recommended for tasting is boiled Jiaji duck, with a thin skin and unusually juicy meat, and, finally, Wenchang chicken served with a spicy sauce of ginger and sesame oil.

European cuisine in China.

In addition to the Chinese cuisine itself, the island has a developed infrastructure of restaurants with the usual European culinary tradition, there are pizzerias, McDonald's, as well as establishments where you can eat native Russian borscht with cutlets.

Choosing where it is better to eat in a hotel restaurant, or in street or seaside cafes, should be based on culinary preferences and wallet. So, a dinner for two people in a hotel will cost $ 60-80, while in a street restaurant for $ 100 a company of 6 people can eat well.

Hainan Restaurants.

Another advantage of food in China is the huge portions, and the ability to take leftovers with you in special containers, which is practiced everywhere and is not considered shameful. However, seafood lovers should remember that it is better to enjoy the gifts of the Hainan water area in coastal restaurants - the products here will be much fresher and tastier than in the same restaurants in the interior of the island. Usually in such places in front of the entrance there is a large aquarium, from which you can catch your favorite lobsters, crabs, shrimps, and various fish. However, in order to avoid misunderstandings, you need to ask to weigh the selected fish and write down its weight on the order form in order to avoid overpayment.

The most expensive and upscale restaurants are located in the luxury recreation area - Yalongwan Bay. Dadonghai attracts with more democratic prices and an abundance of street food outlets. In Sanya, as well as in the first two, there are plenty of Russian restaurants, taverns and cafes offering food familiar to a Russian person. And anywhere on the island in a restaurant you can ask for a European menu, which will be provided immediately.

The long-lived island of Hainan overwhelms the average tourist with an abundance of exotic fruits. Only desperate daredevils can taste some of them, but coconut milk and all the dishes derived from it are definitely worth tasting. Coconuts are found everywhere in huge quantities, and the pleasant taste of cool coconut milk is so salutary on a sultry afternoon.

Plunging into the magical world of relaxation on the island of Hainan, enjoying the sea and the sun, absorbing the beauty of forests, mountains and rivers, enriching spiritually in Buddhist temples, tasting breathtaking combinations of Chinese cuisine, each guest takes away from here a piece of unique Chinese culture, which once took a place in heart, will never leave him.

Hello everyone, my dear readers. Today I want to tell you how much food costs in Hainan in the city of Sanya. Let's talk about cafes, restaurants, fruits from the markets, delicious ice cream and products from the supermarket.

There are many absolutely opposite opinions on this topic on the Internet: someone says that everything is expensive, someone, on the contrary, claims that you can eat for a penny. The truth, as you probably guessed, is somewhere in between.

And I just want to tell you where we ate, how much it cost us, and what impressions this or that dish left me, and you yourself draw conclusions how much these prices and quality of food are acceptable for you.

In this article:

Cafes and restaurants

You will definitely not stay hungry in Sanya: cafes and restaurants are literally at every step. Here are some of those we visited.

1. Food area

This place is located in Da Dong Hai Bay, not far from the main street, between the Zima and Leto shopping centers. It is a small square, along the perimeter of which there are several cafes, tables are installed closer to the center of the square, and a stage is located in the very center. The food square is open in the evenings.

The exact location on the map can be found here.

I started my story from this very place, as it is quite popular with tourists. It's great to sit here in the evening, eat ice cream, and enjoy the concert (I recommend visiting). But I cannot recommend it as a place for lunch or dinner, for the simple reason that the food here is not tasty.

Yes, there is a great selection of food. Yes, the food is relatively inexpensive. But I didn't like anything here:

  • chicken kebabs - the meat does not look like chicken at all, it's even scary to imagine what it was made of (10 yuan per skewer),
  • tofu fried in soy sauce - too salty (RMB 8 each).

The rolls with bacon and mushrooms were tolerant to the taste, but I can't say “tasty” about them either.

In addition, before the trip, we knew from other tourists that it is better not to take rice dishes or pasta with meat on the square, since there will be very little meat there, and beef is not always fried. So this rule was confirmed not only for this place, but also for some others (we will talk about them further). Such dishes cost from 25 RMB to about 60 RMB.

Let's just say, if I was very hungry, I would not have the strength to go to another cafe, then I would take rice with vegetables and some greens here.

In general, it is worth going here in order to try fried ice cream. It is prepared at a kiosk on the corner:

It's just unreal! I highly recommend it to everyone.

For everyone who doesn't know, I will briefly explain how it is prepared. First, take fruits (of your choice) and beat them in a blender. The finished mixture is poured into a special bowl, which is cooled from below. The mixture begins to freeze, it is stirred with a spatula so that it freezes evenly. After a while, when the mixture is completely frozen, it is put into a glass.

This pleasure is worth 20 yuan. It doesn't look very presentable, but it really tastes good.

Here you can also buy a fruit cocktail, that is, the fruit will simply be whipped in a blender. It will cost RMB 18:

I repeat once again that it is very tasty and must be tried.

Small bottom line: you shouldn't dine in the food square, but you can taste great ice cream and listen to good music.

2. Chinese food cafe

See the exact location on the map at this link.

It can be found along green walls, a red sign, and skullcap waiters:

Here you can taste Chinese dishes consisting of pasta or rice with various additives of your choice: meat, vegetables and sauces.

Menu with pictures, staff speaks a little English.

Here a very important point arises, which applies in general to all cafes and restaurants in China: the dish that you order may turn out to be simply unrealistically spicy. So spicy that you can't eat it.

Therefore, when ordering, be sure to indicate that the dish is not spicy. You can do this by using words to visit China. Just print it out before you travel, or save it to your phone and carry it with you everywhere.

Here the food seemed to me quite tasty, I love different sauces. The only thing I would advise is to take dishes with chicken, as all other types of meat can seem tough.

The portions are large: a plate with a mountain. The average cost of a rice or pasta dish with meat, vegetables and sauces is 20 yuan. We ate there for 45 yuan together with drinks.

3. Frog cafe

Yes, there is a restaurant in Sanya where you can taste the frog dish. It is located in the Pineapple shopping center in Da Dong Hai Bay, which was already mentioned above. This mall from the outside looks like a pineapple (who would have thought), I marked its location on the map.

In general, I really liked this shopping center, there is a lot of interesting things, and on the 4th floor there are just countless cafes and restaurants. So even if you don't want to go exactly to the cafe with frogs, still visit this place. I am sure that you will find a restaurant for yourself with quality and very tasty Chinese food.

On purpose, we were not going to this cafe. We just walked by, and I saw unrealistically huge (!!!) portions on the tables of visitors. Imagine a baking sheet for baking something in the oven, so deep, with high sides. Now divide it in half - this will be the size of the plate. And on such a plate there is just a mountain of meat and vegetables.

We could not pass by. For a very long time we talked with the waiters through an interpreter, trying to find out what this or that dish was made of. In the end, it turned out that there are dishes of frog meat, chicken and shrimp.

We decided not to risk it and ordered a chicken dish. It turned out to be not as big as the frog dishes, but still not small either. To him we ordered a small plate of rice and drinks. They brought us watermelons and a kettle of tea for free.

All this pleasure cost about 140 yuan. It was very tasty: the meat was well done, the broth was rich. Recommend.

Prices can be found in the menu:

I want to explain why we didn't order frog dishes. The fact is that the Chinese cook meat differently than we are used to. For example, they do not cut chicken into legs, wings, thighs and fillets. They just take a big heavy knife and cut the chicken to pieces right with all the bones, skin and even paws.

That is, when you catch a piece of chicken, it will not be pure meat, but a bone with meat and cartilage, for example. And here a chicken paw can also swim. This is such a feature of Chinese cuisine (of course, there are exceptions, which will be discussed later).

But if the chicken paw in the dish can still be safely transferred, then I'm not entirely sure about the frog paw. So we decided to take something more familiar. And now, to be honest, I regret a little that I did not dare to try it. For some reason it seems to me that it would be delicious.

You can find this cafe on the fourth floor. From the escalator you need to go through the corridor and at the end of it there will be a sign like this:

4. Shopping center "Pineapple"

As I said above, there are many cafes and restaurants in Pineapple. At the entrance to the mall, we were given advertising brochures several times. I will post them below so you can evaluate the dishes and their cost.

There is also a rather unusual cafe on the fourth floor of the Pineapple shopping center: it can be recognized by the benches that stand at the entrance to it. That is, the cafe is so overcrowded that the Chinese (we did not see Russians there) sit and wait for a place to become free.

Guys, I'll tell you honestly, I've never seen such huge plates anywhere (even in a frog restaurant). My salad bowls are smaller than these plates.

As a result, as far as we understood from communication with the waitress, in this cafe you only need to pay for the entrance of about 50 yuan, and you can eat as much as you want. And the food is very spicy. This is all not accurate, since we communicated literally on our fingers, but just keep in mind that such establishments have a place to be.

5. Restaurant in the hotel

Each hotel has its own restaurant. Many believe that it is very expensive to eat there, although this is not always the case. I recommend that you definitely look there, you can even drop by before opening to just study the menu: often the prices for the dishes are quite reasonable, while the service will be excellent.

For example, in a hotel restaurant Hawaii Hotel we ordered spicy duck (96 yuan) and dumplings (38 yuan). Juice (we drank 2 liters with spicy duck) - no more than 10 yuan.

The duck is constantly heated from below:

Food prices at this restaurant start at around RMB 30.

The duck turned out to be VERY spicy, so if you want hardcore - go ahead! The dumplings are delicious, I recommend to everyone.

The restaurant, by the way, is located on the second floor of the hotel:

6. Cafe with hairy food

There is one fairly popular place in Da Dong Hai Bay near the beach, but the food there is just disgusting! Not because it tastes bad (although in this regard they also pumped up), but because both times that we were there, other people's hair turned out to be in my food !!! Well, once they gave me a dirty spoon ...

This is the place:

The portions are huge, the prices for the dishes are from 20 RMB.

But the quality of the food is lame. If you take any meat other than chicken, be prepared for the fact that it will most likely not be fried, and there will be very little of it.

7. Fast food

It is generally accepted in our country that only burgers and soda that are harmful to the stomach are sold at McDonald's or anywhere else. But traditions are so strong in China that in every McDuck and other similar establishments you can buy a full-fledged dish of rice, meat and vegetables.

For example, at the local fast food Dicos ( see the position on the map here) we had a very tasty and very inexpensive dinner. The cafe is located on the second floor:

The smallest cell of the plate contains a sharp component. That is, you are not initially prepared spicy food, but given a choice, which, in my opinion, is simply wonderful.

The food is delicious, the meat is boneless and very well cooked.

And one time we ran at McDonald's on a pedestrian street, where they also ordered rice and chicken. Prices are about the same. There is a lot of meat, but, in my opinion, not enough sauce.

In general, if you need a quick, relatively inexpensive and without surprises snack, you can run here.

Once, for fun, we decided to order a local chickenburger at Dicos (13 yuan). Who would have thought that it could be SO sharp! So be careful)

8. Cafe in Yalong Bay

Fruit

Fruit is best bought from two locations. The first of these is the markets.

All markets, large and small, are a must. Since there I tell you which of them you can buy fruits inexpensively, and where it is better to take them is not worth it because of the cosmic prices.

The second good place is street vendors. On the central streets you may meet Chinese women who will offer all passers-by "mango" and "banana". Their fruits are very tasty and ripe. Prices may be slightly higher than in the markets, but if you meet such a Chinese woman in the evening, you can buy the last item from her at a very good price.

And these are the approximate prices for fruits (prices are indicated for half a kilo):

  • pineapples - 4 yuan
  • mango - 5-6 yuan
  • tangerines - 4 yuan
  • lychee - 6 yuan
  • dragon fruit, pitahaya - 4 yuan
  • coconuts - 10 RMB apiece

Prices may fluctuate slightly, don't forget to bargain.

Ice cream

I already talked about ice cream above, but I just can't help but put it in a separate chapter. This is what you MUST try in Hainan. This is delicious.

Ice cream is made from fresh fruits. First, beat them in a blender until smooth. Then the resulting mixture is poured into a special freezing bowl. After complete freezing, the mass is laid out in a glass.

You can buy it at the food market: at the very first kiosk... Costs 20 yuan.

I confess that I was ready to eat it every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Food in supermarkets

There is a supermarket chain in Sanya, they are found literally at every step and even more often. I cannot say what they are called, since the name is written only in hieroglyphs. Usually green color predominates in their design.

You can buy literally everything in them. If you get to a large point, you can walk like in a museum and be amazed at the huge variety of those products that we sell very limitedly. For example, a whole department might be devoted to infusions or soy sauce. You can come across unusual products that are not sold here.

Prices are very different for everything. For example, we bought cookies on the way back (by the way, it came in handy): 1.5 - 2.5 yuan per pack:

Dairy products are very expensive - sour cream 35 yuan per jar. But here there is a lot of other and inexpensive things. In one supermarket, I photographed a rack with stock products (do not forget that the cost of products is indicated for half a kilo):

Drinks cost 3 - 5 RMB for a 0.5 liter bottle.

So, here are 2 of the largest and most interesting food supermarkets.

1. Underground food supermarket

In Sanya, they no longer know where else to build something, so they decided to bury themselves underground. Under the busiest street in the city, next to the pedestrian street, there is a supermarket located on the minus second floor.

You can go down into it by an elevator, which is located right next to the roadway, and is a separate building. The elevator is located approximately here - see location on map.

On the second floor there is a whole underground street, on one side of which there is a parking lot where taxis are waiting.

On the other hand, the shopping center, which smoothly turns into a huge supermarket, where you can find almost any food.

I took a few shots. Pastries and sweets:

Seafood:

Crabs from RMB 50 per pound:

Hedgehogs from 3 yuan per piece, shells about 20 yuan per pound:

148 yuan per pound:

Bread - from 1.5 yuan,
Coconut milk - 3.5 yuan per can,
Candy - from 8.5 yuan per box,
Fruit is slightly more expensive than on the market.

2. Food supermarket in "Pineapple"

On the second floor shopping center "Pineapple" there is a large supermarket. There are clothes hanging at the entrance to the store, so it is not very clear that this is a food store.

There is also a lot of interesting things here, you can buy gifts.

The prices are about the same as in the first supermarket, so I don't see any point in listing them.

About breakfast at the hotel

Concluding the topic of food, I would like to talk about the breakfasts that take place in hotels. Can't speak for all the hotels as we were only two (and both were 4 stars), but still.

Don't rely on fancy and varied breakfasts.

Be prepared to be disappointed with the breakfast food. For example, it can be soy sausages of an unnaturally red color, something will seem unsalted, something too greasy. We didn't have coffee at all, instead tea, coconut milk and juice.

The variety of breakfasts does not differ either: most likely, they will be the same every day.

My advice is: try a little of everything and look for what you like. For example, I really liked dumplings, tomatoes stew with eggs, green tea and cotton cheesecake (very tasty).

Don't put a lot of food on your plate at once if you haven't tried it yet. Food may not taste what it tastes like.

Dear friends, I hope this article was useful to you, and now you are a little oriented on the cost of food and food in a cafe.

I wish you a great holiday and incredible gastronomic discoveries. And for today I have everything, bye everyone!

Sincerely, Elena.
